Mediation

Mediation provides an alternative to costly and divisive courtroom battles. It brings the parties together in a non-confrontational manner, promoting cooperation and communication. Typically, mediation:

  • is less costly than litigation;
  • benefits children by reducing conflict;
  • is confidential, avoiding public disclosure of personal problems;
  • can be completed in less time than litigation.

The mediation process helps divorcing spouses separate their spousal roles, which are ending, from their roles as parents, friends and, often, business associates, which are continuing. Mediation can often resolve conflicts involving custody, parenting arrangements. child and spousal support and property and debt division. Agreements reached during mediation may, after attorney review, be entered as a court order or decree.

Both Stephen A. Gold and Winifred Atlas are trained in divorce mediation. Through their personal, caring approach, they have helped many clients reach and maintain amicable settlements. Stephen A. Gold stands ready to assist you. Click here to contact him.
